The infamous "Stolen Sidekick"

I sat down this evening and read Evan's entire thread of Humble guy speaks for friend, no wait...myself"
Ok i agree that when you lose or leave something "Anywhere, it should be returned to you, (expecially when it's your wedding ring past down from generations) maybe i'll rant about it sometime if anyone cares...that said!

you appointed yourself as the internets most posted reply's ever about your own post. so stop complaining about how buisy you are emailing, re-mailing, posting-reposting, and replying to the internet. And the phone isn't even yours. so lets hear your friends 2-cents.
just because you were with her that night means that every 4 hours you have to bragg about how many servers you took out, or just how your comnputer is doing every hour.
I am asstounded however to hear that the police aren't refering to this as a "I don't care how you came in possesion of a stolen phone, it's still not registered in your name, so your going to jail.
remind me later to tell you about "Once upon a time in California"

USB 'keyring' tricks

2600'ers,

I've been wanting to do a number of things w/those 64mb USB keys, but haven't been ingenious enough yet to do it. Anyone willing to volunteer me info? You can email me if you'd rather not post...

Let's assume we're looking at Win XP boxes...

1) a batch file that searches the HD for any files w/the text "password" and copies it to the USB ram.

2) a batch file that does the LINUX thing & blows away the Windows Security file (SAM) w/whatever's on the USB card -- this could also be a bootable CD.

3) a key that added a user to the security file w/root access

4) a key that copied a bunch of files to a website...

Rather than a 'batch file', if you know how to make these 'autorun' when the key is inserted, please let me know...!

Anyone got a key & the time/patience to do this?

PEACE!

Ari

PS: True information freedom is coming!!! Sooner than we think!
